Here is a very interesting tune by a band from Mali, it’s very tribal and the band consists of members of a nomadic tribe . In a way, this is what you’d probably call Saharan blues, and in this music , is the roots of the blues.

Here’s Bob Marley doing his classic Stir it Up, notice the great sounding Moog Synth in there.  I  love the way these guys hold back the rhythm of the song, totally understated.  Also note the nice balance between the Gibson Les Paul with the Wah and the Fender Strat guitar playing a chunky rhythm.
